You could get social for Twins Trust - virtually of course!
Could you arrange an online dinner party, quiz, kids party or bake off virtually – here are a few ideas keep us social and raise some money at the same time.
Use one of the many video chat apps to host your event, for example Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, HouseParty, Google Hangouts
Having things to look forward is also good for us. Could you arrange an online party for the kids with their friends one weekend? Set a time and date, create your party on Skype or Zoom, send your invites and get baking! Maybe it will be fancy dress, a birthday celebration or a fun themed event. Arrange online games and challenges for your guests! Ask your invitees to donate to your party fundraising page.
Schedule the date and time of your Quiz Event and invite people to join in. Explain what you are doing and why. With the date set and people 'attending' ask them to make a donation to your fundraising page.
Create your quiz, there are lots of online resources for this! Or maybe each guest creates a different round of questions.
Don’t forget to create your online events and send your guests a link or any access codes and passwords.
Getting social with food
Host a Dinner party - Select your dinner party menu or theme that everyone will be able to cook. BBC Good Food has lots of Dinner Party ideas. Agree on a date and time. Each family cooks separately in their own home. Set the table, dress up and join the party. You can do this with your twin friends, club members or with friends and family.
Kids Virtual Bake off - Let teenagers and children catch up with their friends or grandparents. Help them bake and decorate their favourite recipes. Maybe you can ask for a small donation to enter and offer prizes for their efforts.
Wine and Cheese party - If you like getting together with friends and family for good food, wine or cocktails (in moderation) and you are not a cook, you might like hosting a wine and cheese party! Set this up in a similar way to the dinner party.
Silence Time - Sponsored Silence for the kids (and adults too!)
We know that structure and routine is healthy for us all right now and part of that is a bit of quiet time. Create a fundraising page and ask family and friends to sponsor the kids in their attempt to be silent for half an hour a day for a week (or more…..).
Maybe they can draw, paint, read and play quietly – but perhaps no electronic gadgets or TV for their silence time.
Create your fundraising page on Just Giving, decide how long the silence is going to be and for how many days and let your family and friends know.
