Our family support service is here to support families navigating through the grief of losing one or more of their babies whilst also caring for their surviving baby/ies.

When you find out you are expecting a multiple birth, there is such a mix of emotions but for one or more of them to die is one of the most heart-breaking experiences a family will ever go through. For our families with their remaining multiple baby/ies there is a constant reminder of the loss as well as a small glimmer of hope for the future.

I accepted having one baby when I fell pregnant. Then I found out it was twins and I was very blessed, but to lose one is beyond cruel.

The sun sets over an ocean view

Our practical support allows families space to navigate through this grief with practical hands-on support in the home and emotional support over the phone. We provide help with moving forward with the living baby/ies and provide confidence and emotional support on those next steps. It is important to recognise that some things will be triggers and our support can help to identify those as well as promoting the bonds for the remaining babies and parents.

Our non-judgemental support allows families to travel their individual journey whether it's working out how to get out and about with their baby/ies because they don't want to use the pushchair they originally bought, or how to gently transition from a crib to a cot when the last thing they really want in the house is a cot.

I used to love looking at baby products but at the moment I really don't want to or know how to even start.

We are here to understand and support in a gentle, caring and empathetic way. Allowing some hope to move forward with the memories that are held so dear. Acknowledging the difficulties when new milestones are met but allowing them to be celebrated in an understanding way.

Every family's experiences are unique and the service we provide is exactly that. We pride ourselves in providing your family with what you want at that time. Alongside the peer support in our bereavement Facebook groups and through our helpline which you can reach by calling 0800 138 0509 (Mon-Fri 10am-1pm and 7pm-10pm), we aim to provide you with the network you need on this different and difficult path that you and your family are now following.
