At Twins Trust, we want everyone to be able to get the most out of our website.
Accessibility features
Here are some of the accessibility features we currently have on our website.
Descriptive link text
We use descriptive link text across our site.
This means links make sense even when they’re read on their own. This can help people who use assistive technology, such as screen readers, move through a page and find the links they need.
Meaningful alt text on images
Most images on our site include alt text. This is text stored with an image to describe what it shows or explain its purpose.
Alt text can support people who use assistive technology, such as screen readers. It can also help visitors who choose not to load images, for example because of a slow internet connection.
Some images are purely decorative. When an image doesn’t add useful information, we use blank alt text. This helps reduce unnecessary content on the page.
Easy-to-see web colour scheme
We use a clear colour scheme across our site.
This helps make text, buttons and other content easier to see. Strong contrast between text and backgrounds can support visitors with visual impairments.
Easy-to-read font type, size and colour
We use fonts that are clear and simple to read.
The font type, size and colour are chosen to make our content easy to follow. This helps visitors read information comfortably across the site.
Fully scalable fonts
Our fonts can be resized by users.
This means visitors can change the text size to suit their needs. The page will still work clearly when fonts are made larger.
Third-party features
Please note that we cannot guarantee the accessibility of any third-party plug-ins, embedded content or links that appear on our site. These include YouTube, Vimeo Typeform and ArcGIS embedded content, as well as our Stripe payment integration.
Compliance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) set out how websites can be made more accessible.
WCAG has three levels: A, AA and AAA. This website is currently partly compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA.
