We want to be able to give you the information families need so that they get the right support following a bereavement.
The Twins Trust Bereavement Service supports all parents and carers of twins, triplets or more who have died whether it was during or after pregnancy.
Here’s some information you can share with families:
- Families will be faced with different types of bereavement. Our bereavement pages offer information for different pathways. There’s guidance about registering a baby’s death and planning a funeral. There are also resources about dealing with grief and the support available to help families through bereavement
- Let families know about the Certificates of Birth. Parents can apply for a baby loss certificate if their baby or babies has died before 24 weeks of pregnancy.
- Signpost families to the Twins Trust online support communities. They offer a safe space for parents to talk to someone who has experienced the loss of a baby or babies. There are several groups, dedicated to specific types of loss, and they are open to everyone. You can share the links below with families to access the groups
- Twins Trust Bereavement Support Group (private group)
- Twins Trust Community for the Loss of a Twin
- Twins Trust Community for the Loss of a Triplet or Quad
