It’s been just over a year since we packed up our office, brought it into our homes and worked hard to make sure we could carry on supporting our families virtually.
It’s been a year of firsts and we have been adapting to the ever-changing restrictions that the pandemic brought but we’re proud to be able to reflect on all the things we have achieved together over the last 12 months. Here are just a few highlights…
- We were awarded National Lottery funding in England for the first time, allowing us to be able to offer some of our courses for free to expectant families.
- Plus, all our existing and new courses were made available online.
- We launched virtual club sessions to keep parents connected.
- We continued to work with the Scottish Government to try to improve the financial benefits for families.
- We developed activity packs to keep little ones in Northern Ireland amused during the lockdown.
- We ran Zoom calls, music classes and baby massage courses in Northern Ireland
- We welcomed 2501 new members.
- We provided information online to almost 440,000 visitors to our website.
- Our Centre for Research and Clinical Excellence was launched and we published nine pieces of research.
- We provided webinars to over 1,000 health professionals to help them provide the best maternity care for multiples
- When shelves were emptied during panic buying, we campaigned for our families to be able to access formula milk.
- Our remote Family Support Service was also launched to help new parents during the pandemic.
- Twinline received around 1,100 email and calls from parents and carers needing to talk.
- New resources and support booklets were provided to families including our play booklet.
- We held our first virtual volunteers' day to celebrate their amazing work and make plans for the following year.
- Our first virtual fundraising event raised more than £40k thanks to our awesome fundraisers.
And the best part of all, we did it all as a team with lots of support through Whatsapp groups, online chats, quizzes and virtual get together. #TeamTwinsTrust
Thank you to everyone that has supported us during this tough time and helped us continue our work, making it possible to help families with twins, triplets or more.
