Managing a shopping trip with twins or triplets is challenging. A simple grocery trip can feel like a marathon without a suitable trolley. Yet not enough supermarkets currently provide suitable trollies for our families.

We want that to change. All supermarkets should provide enough double and triple shopping trollies, ensuring shopping is easier and less stressful for families with multiples. You can make that change a reality.

How can I help?

Please help us fill in our map. This will enable other families with multiples to know the local facilities available to them. It will also allow us to celebrate the supermarkets who are doing well and speak to those who are doing less well to show how they can improve their trolley options.

Tell us about your area

Think about or visit your local supermarkets and tell us about how many double and triple trollies they have. If you don't know exactly how many, a rough estimate is enough.

Use our simple form to submit the information to us quickly and easily.

We'll put the trollies you tell us about on our map, to show how many supermarkets don't currently have suitable trollies and help you find ones that do.

Our map's a bit lonely right now, help change that by telling us about your local area!

But wait, that's not all! After you've contributed to our map, there are even more ways to get involved and help us make change happen:

  • Help us build a collection of photos of twin and triplet trollies across the country by sending us photos of the trollies at your local supermarkets.
  • Speak to the manager of your local supermarkets and ask them to consider adding twin and triplet trollies to their store. Explain why it is important to you and the benefits to the store in having these trollies.

Pause for thought

Our families lose out... and so do the supermarkets who lose our valuable custom. More children equals more spending, so more double trollies equals increased revenues for the supermarkets. Simple!

Our goal

We want all supermarkets to provide enough double and triple shopping trollies for families with multiples.

By prioritising the needs of our community, supermarkets will create a more welcoming environment that encourages loyalty and frequent visits, ultimately boosting their bottom line and improving the shopping experience for our families.

Let’s make shopping more convenient for all parents!

Other issues around accessibility
  • Enhanced parent and child parking: Navigating a car park with children can be stressful and it's even more challenging with multiple young ones who can go in different directions at the same time. We want shops to provide more parent and child parking spaces and more strictly enforce that these spots are only used by those who truly need them. These spaces should be closer to store entrances for easier and safer access. We would love to one day to see designated parking spaces specifically for families with multiples to accommodate wider buggies and additional space to manoeuvre
  • Upgraded baby changing and feeding facilities: We recognise the importance of comfortable, accessible facilities for changing and feeding babies. Our goal is to push for spaces that cater to the needs of all parents, especially those with multiples. Feeding rooms should be provided which have spacious, comfortable seating arrangements that allow for tandem feeding without constraints. Baby changing rooms should fit a double buggy inside, ensuring you have the space to manage without stress. Ideally, there should be designated baby changing rooms without toilets inside to maintain hygiene and ease of use, especially when handling more than one child
  • Building access: We understand the difficulty of navigating buildings without lifts when you have multiples, especially when you have a double buggy. People should have the option to schedule appointments on the ground floor in facilities like medical offices to accommodate all families comfortably. When venues require that prams be left outside, it's essential to consider the logistics for parents managing multiples. We want support systems or services that assist parents as they navigate the premises, ensuring safe and convenient access
