Dr Caroline Shaw, Consultant Obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine and Laura Jones, Multiple Pregnancy Specialist Midwife from Leeds Teaching Hospitals, will be discussing Continuity of Obstetric and Midwifery Care. They will be joined by host Dr Surabhi Nanda, Consultant Obstetrician/Maternal Fetal Medicine Subspecialist at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital.  There will be time for questions and discussion.

Dr Surabhi Nanda is a Consultant Obstetrician/Maternal Fetal Medicine Subspecialist at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital and a Clinical Trustee for Twins Trust. She is also Secretary, British Maternal and Fetal Medicine Society, UK and President, Maternity and Newborn Section, Royal Society of Medicine, UK.

She was the Lead author of FIGO “Cancer in Pregnancy” Guideline (2025), Co-author of RCOG Greentop Guideline “NIPT in pregnancy” (draft 2025) and Co-PI UKOSS study on “Non invasive ventilation in Pregnancy” (data collection complete 2025). She is also Executive Board Member – FMF initiative on Maternal Medicine in Pregnancy (2025)

Caroline Shaw
Consultant Obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Leeds Teaching Hospitals

Dr Shaw is a Consultant Obstetrician and subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. She completed her subspecialty training at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital, London. She was awarded a PhD from Imperial College London for her research developing a non-invasive treatment (HIFU) for twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) and was part of the team who introduced HIFU as new treatment for TTTS.  She has published and presented internationally and authored chapters on multiple pregnancy and fetal physiology. She continues to be active in research.  Dr Shaw’s interest include all areas of fetal medicine and prenatal diagnosis, and she has a special interest in complex multiple pregnancy.

She is part of the team that runs the multiple pregnancy clinic at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

Laura Jones
Specialist Multiple Pregnancy Midwife, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust

Laura qualified as a nurse in 2006 then attended university to become a midwife in 2010. She qualified in 2012 and was a labour midwife until 2018 when she became a Specialist Multiple Pregnancy Midwife. Laura is very passionate about care for women with a multiple pregnancy and has a keen interest in breastfeeding. She is one of the team of Twins Trust audit midwives.
