How do you help your children make good choices on social media?
What sort of boundaries do you need to consider – and will they really work?
If your children are on social media, or could be in the next few years, then join this free clinic delivered by Positive Social. It's designed to empower you to make good choices when it comes to your childrens social media use.
With social media being such a big part of their lives, how can you set appropriate boundaries that actually work? How can you foster an environment where your child feels comfortable sharing their social media experiences with you?
Amongst other things, we’ll be discussing:
- How to create better conversations with your children about social media
- Setting boundaries that are practical for your family
- Practical technology tips for parents to help manage and support safe social media use
- Insights from research and science on social media’s impact
- Personal actions you can take to positively influence your children’s relationship with technology
This session is free but any donations will be passed onto Positive Social to help run their free sessions in the UK’s secondary schools.
There will be plenty of time for questions during this interactive session.
Social media expert Mark Saxby, from the Positive Social charity, has delivered workshops to hundreds of young people since 2014, helping them gain back control of their lives from social media.
Mark, who also runs a successful social media consultancy, is the dad of three children (20, 18 and 10) so understands the pressure on parents.
