Runner Craig McAllister is no stranger to pounding the streets for charity.
Now he’s preparing for the Great North Run in September 2022 and grabbing moments to train when he can during his busy family life as a dad to twin girls Mikeala and Lillie.
The journey to parenthood wasn’t an easy one for Craig and his wife, Kat.
Craig, who lives in Worcester, said: “We always knew we would have to have some form of IVF as my wife suffers from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) so we knew starting a family would not be straightforward.
“We had three rounds of IVF and my wife had an ectopic pregnancy too.”

Thankfully the third round of IVF was a success and Mikeala and Lillie were born in April 2019.
Now the three-year-olds bring plenty of joy to Craig and Kat. Craig decided he wanted to support Twins Trust by putting his name down for the Great North Run.
Speaking about parenthood, he said: “It’s chaos but it’s all lovely.
“I’ve not done the Great North Run before. People say it’s difficult so it will be a challenge.”
Although fitting in time to train when you have a young family of multiples isn’t easy, Craig said he finds running a great way to de-stress.
He added: “Twins Trust does so much helping families with multiples and I wanted to support the charity.”
